BALSA PLANE INSTRUCTION MANUAL
PROJECT DESCRIPTION & PROCESS
The purpose of this project was after making a Basla plane myself, I was to recreate the instruction manual.
During the process of making the plane making mistakes was the interesting thing through out my experience.
I increasely made mistake because once I read the first line of each step I assume I know what is required for me to do, which is why I felt someone like me needed an instruction manual that comes across authoritative. Something military and bossy.
While thinking of making my instructions I had to constantly watch military/army movies, programs e.t.c bacause I wanted to get myself familiar with the military vocabularies. The first attempted was beginning to work vocabulary but visualy exhibit nothing military. I could only do this by taking it to the extreme thinking of colours, military icons.

Some of my sketches -

This was the way I drew my construction images - like 3d.

After working out the layout and all necessary visuals, the vocabularies is a very important aspect of the idea. Even that I am not using it throughout my instruction manual but still it needs to be relevant and effective.
Some of the movies I watched try to work on the vocabularies.
THE KINGDOM
e.t.c.
The final outcome digitally

The final outcome was going to be as a silk screen poster, so this are the images I had to prepare. Because I was printing it in black and red I had to print separate screens both for the Fuselage and the wings -
Set up of screens -

Red screen Fuselage

Red Screen Wings

Black Screen Fuselage

Black Screen Wings
Am happy with the final outcome and also I did the silk screen because it gave it more print quality. Just abit of mistake with the alignment of the whole image, the edge of the red layout was falling off the screen.
Am still going to go try and print more during the week and try out other colours and perfect the print. This process has increase my skill of silk screen.
